They are young, innovative and brave to take the step into the unknown – the start-ups. With great ideas and usually a small budget, they work tirelessly to make their dream come true and help shape our future.
The Pioneer Prize, which is awarded by the Zürcher Kantonalbank and Technopark Zürich, recognizes the commitment and willingness to take risks of these start-ups and awards a particularly exciting and promising technical project every year, which is on the threshold of market entry.
The award is endowed with CHF 98,696.04 – an unusual sum, but a symbolic number. It corresponds to 10,000 times the number of pi squares and thus stands for strength, foresight and fascination.
As one of the most important innovation awards in Switzerland, the pioneering award not only helps young companies to gain additional capital and the coveted quality label, but also offers them a stage on which they can present themselves to the public. Well-known personalities from politics and business as well as various media representatives take part in the award ceremony in spring.
